La Romana, located an hour and a half's drive east of Santo Domingo, is a city that was pretty much built by the sugar industry. In fact it was the large sugar company, Gulf & Western , who developed Casa de Campo , which receives most of this area's visitors. This 7,000 acre property of rolling hills includes two 18 hole championship golf courses, tennis centers, swimming pools, equestrian stables, polo grounds, shooting stations and exclusive private villas. Pete Dye designed the famous, Dientes de Perro (Teeth of the Dog), where eight of the course's holes skirt the edge of the beautiful Caribbean coast.

Our resort provides a maid service from 8AM until 5PM, including two absolutely delicious home-cooked meals, in addition to various sandwiches and snacks, utilizing the microwave, refrigerator and cooking utensils provided in our resort's full kitchen. Your maid will also clean this Caribbean villa and do the laundry. What more could you ask for on a family vacation?? This paradise resort also provides a telephone, air conditioning, and cable TV in each bedroom, along with a VCR, stereo, and CD player. And, to top it off, if you find yourself merely wanting to take in the Caribbean environment from afar, the resort provides a whirlpool on the patio.

The backyard is huge, level and well maintained; great for activities; it abuts the 11th hole of Teeth of Dog golf course. We've had several beautiful weddings right in our backyard, 2 anniversaries (we even had a 40th anniversary!), birthday parties ... and some golfers like to practice their swing there!
